Unearth the City of Adelaide with NatureClick!
NatureClick is a photo competition showcasing the hidden nature secrets in our amazing city. Grab your camera or phone, get out into the Adelaide's CBD and snap your NatureClick photo!
There are categories for everyone, with all entries going into the running for our Facebook People's Choice Award and a chance to have your photo included in the NatureLights projector exhibition as part of Splash Adelaide. Prizes include an awesome nature experience from PureSA and event tickets to some of the Adelaide Sustainability Centre's popular eco events.
Entries are open until midnight on Sunday 25 February
Here's how to enter!
1. Take your photo/s!
We're looking for Adelaide's hidden nature gems within the City of Adelaide, with the central themes of:
- City from nature’s point of view
- Nature’s up to something!
- Nature connections
The only limit is your imagination! You can enter up to three photos in your chosen category.
2. Pick a category
Select your competition category - Open (18 and over) or Youth (under 18).
Entries to all categories will also be considered for our Facebook People's Choice competition and the Judges' Picks projector exhibition at The Joinery from 23—25 March 2018 (minimum resolution limits apply - see T&Cs for details).
3. Submit your entry by 25 February 2018
Fill out the entry form — including the link to your photos on a file sharing platform (e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive) — to enter NatureClick.
Shortlisted finalists for the Open and Youth categories will be announced on Monday 5 March. All these finalists will be featured on The Joinery Facebook between 5—16 March, where the photo from any category with the most 'likes' by midnight on 16 March will win the People's Choice Award!
Winners of the Open, Youth and People's Choice categories will be announced on 22 March 2018.
To round out the competition, we'll be celebrating with a special NatureLights projected exhibition from 22—25 March 2018, and a NatureChat exploring the theme of urban nature in late March as part of Splash Adelaide. Stay tuned for more details!
By participating in NatureClick, you're part of City Unearthed: Celebrating Adelaide’s nature within
What's it all about?
94% of South Australians believe nature is important and visit at least one natural site per year. We know spending time in nature is good for us and that our unique plants and animals are part of how we identify ourselves as South Australians but we rarely talk about nature in our daily life.
While wild places are vital to immerse in and protect, nature is everywhere living amongst us in our cities and homes – even in the most unlikely places.
City Unearthed will give South Australians an opportunity to find, capture, share and celebrate our urban nature stories in a way that brings our city to life.
City Unearthed invites you to show us your nature.
