UPDATE: The Joinery has now closed its doors.

Since 2014, The Joinery has been a place for South Australians to come together – united by a love for nature, sustainability, action, and community. It’s been our warm, welcoming space to connect, learn, share, and create the positive change we all want for our future.

From our beautiful community garden managed by Common Ground to our cafe space most recently hosted by Proof of Pie and the Bikes for Refugees workshop to countless events, workshops, and conversations, you have filled this place with life.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey – whether you’ve worked here, hosted an event, dropped in for a coffee, rented a desk, or simply stopped to enjoy our oasis in the heart of the city.

While this chapter closes, Conservation Council SA's new space and home "The Exchange" at 55 Exchange Place will offer new and exciting opportunities for our community to explore from October 1st, 2025.
