School Holiday Workshop - Revamping Kids Clothes

Untitled_design_(3).png

A school holiday workshop for children aged 5+

In this fun, hands-on class Michelle Jahn, Textile Artist will teach children how to design and print their own artwork onto their own clothes!

Children will start the class by creating their own design using lino blocks on paper before transferring their design onto clothing using coloured non-toxic fabric inks. The result – beautiful, colourful revamped clothing items completely designed and printed from start to finish by your kids!

You will need to bring 3 items of your kids clothes that need a reno/revamp. Cotton is prefered to print on. Please feel free to bring additional pieces of material if you would like to practice before your final items.

Recommended ages are a guide only. Parent / care-giver supervision required (parent participation at no extra cost).

About Michelle:

Michelle printed her first lino block while studying as a Fabric Design at North Adelaide School of art nearly 30 years ago, and she has been printing ever since. After graduating Michelle established her own arts practice and working for SA Opera Company as their fabric designer, fabric finisher. Michelle Jahn, now a re-emerging artist with a passion for textiles, lives and breathes her art practice. As much as she loves creating her own art she relishes helping other people tap into the right side of their brain. She encourages play, experimentation, and imagination and her workshops leave you feeling rejuvenated and inspired.
