Mending Circle

Do you find that you have a few items to mend or repair but don’t have the skills or tools to mend them? This month we’ll celebrate Mend It May with a good old-fashioned mending circle. Bring along your pile of mending and we’ll share skills, stitch, repair, chat and have a crack at solving the problems of the world!

We will provide a jewellery repair kit with 3 types of pliers and a selection of clasps, string, and loops for DIY jewellery repair; a sewing machine along with a limited selection of cotton thread. Scissors, needles, thread. BYO thread, patches etc if you need to colour match a repair and the willingness to share what we know.

Skills we already have on hand to share include basic hand-stitches, jewellery repair, toy repair, crocheting, knitting, basic sewing machine use. Also happy to teach how to cast on for knitting or crocheting if you want to learn.

The Adelaide Sustainability Centre is proudly supported by theAdelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resource Management Board and Conservation SA.
