Bring along your baby or toddler to our group exploring eco and sustainable living for families. Sessions are family-friendly and all are welcome. Our meet ups provide the opportunity to learn a new skill and mingle with other liked minded families on the sustainability journey.
Native Bees
Join Juliet Wellington to find out about the importance of native bees, active community projects in your local area and how to attract native bees to your gardens.
There are over 1,600 species of native bees in Australia, with 500 species in South Australia alone. Native bees pollinate plants and play an important role in the ecosystem. Bees are essential to our survival as pollinators for our food, clothing and retaining native plants.
In this workshop you will learn and discover more about native bees and make a “bee hotel” as a place for your native bees in your garden.
$7.50 per Bee Hotel + booking fee. Bee hotel frames will be pre-made and we will be finishing them off with garden clippings and other materials that native bees like to nest in. Children in attendance need to be under parental or guardian supervision at all times.
The Eco Families group is a community venture in different regions across South Australia and is supported by the Adelaide Sustainability Centre and Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resource Management Board.
