Clothes Swap Party!

clotheswapparty.png

After some guilt free shopping? Well it’s time to swap instead of shop! The Adelaide Sustainability Centre invites you to scour your wardrobe and pull out those quality items that no longer serve you, fit you or inspire you. Chances are there is someone else out there who will give that starved piece the love and affection it deserves. Do your bit to curb the fashion industry’s consumerism agenda, in style.

The way it works:

Select the items in your wardrobe that are due to be moved on. These items could be clothing, accessories and shoes that you would pass on to a friend. Consider not only skirts, pants and jackets. Think scarves, boots and jewellery too.

Bring them along on the swap day at 6 pm, enjoy complimentary nibbles and either go explore the local dinner/market locales, or hang around and browse/socialise while we sort.

Swapping begins at 7.30 pm. We ask that you swap gracefully and generously. Adjudication will be provided if required.

If you need some inspiration, listen to this for some clothes swap wisdom http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/lifematters/clothes-swap/8105802

All sizes, colours and styles are welcomed and wanted.

Any clothing remaining at the end of the swap will be donated to women's services.

Tickets for entry is $10, book your tickets today …. Limited spaces.

All profits will be donated to support Common Ground Adelaide's women's group and remaining clothes will be donated to other women's services in the city.

The Common Ground community garden is located at our home-base, The Joinery. Common Ground, delivered by Housing Choices Australia, is is a not for profit organisation providing a real solution to homelessness. The Common Ground model involves bringing together a mix of people – in a managed apartment building – including spaces for community development, living skills and training activities, office areas for support staff and health professionals and services. Their programs strive to create opportunities for tenants to improve their lives via links to the arts, education, health and social services and sport and fitness and, where possible, employment or volunteering.

The Adelaide Sustainability Centre is supported by the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resource Management Board and Conservation Council of SA.
