There are now more than 1,300 repair cafes worldwide and you can find out more about them here. This project has been funded through Fund My Neighbourhood and will be run by the Adelaide Sustainability Centre with the help of volunteers.
** Please note that the first dates advertised for the Repair Cafe fell on the State Election weekend, then the Easter long weekend so we had to change dates. The first repair cafe has now been confirmed for Saturday 7 April**
Volunteer Meeting
Wednesday 14 March
6 - 7.30pm
The Joinery, 111 Franklin Street, Adelaide
At the meeting we will:
- Provide an overview of the Repair Cafe and how we plan to operate it
- Provide details on volunteer insurance / register volunteers
- Establish house rules that will be passed onto community members who bring items in for repair (to manage participant expectations and support repairers)
- Schedule a volunteer roster
We will also split into two groups- Event Crew and Repairers - to:
- Event Crew - discuss/assign the different tasks and roles for logistics, promotion and running the events.
- Repairers - Determine needs and respond to any questions/concerns that repairers have, walk through space, how will we set it up? etc.

Unley Repair Cafe
A second repair cafe was also funded to operate this year through Fund My Neighbourhood. The Unley Repair Cafe will run on the last Saturday of each month, 9.30am-12.30pm at the Clarence Park Community Centre.
