Upcycling woollen jumpers for nature play

Learn how to turn old woollen jumpers into outdoor adventure suits for young explorers

Join Jacqui Hunter from Hunter Gatherings for a Video Launch and Making Event. We'll be upcycling woollen jumpers that belong to you - perhaps its too felted to wear, has a few holes, or you no longer like it - or a woollen jumper you find from the op shop. Wool has so many benefits: stays warm when wet, fire resistant, stain resistant, antibacterial, breathable – perfect for bush playgroup!

We will provide the sewing machines, basic sewing supplies and the know how!

Participants to bring:

  • their child's garment to copy from
  • woollen jumpers (if possible) – preferably felted, adult sized (A great excuse to visit the local opshop or clean out your wardrobe).
  • sewing kit – pins, scissors, elastic + any interesting patches to sew on
  • plate of food to share

If you don't have a jumper to upcycle. We'll have a limited supply jumpers that we've collected available on the day.

All workshop proceeds donated to Medicines Sans Frontiers.
