Earth Hour Candlelit Dinner at The Joinery

Earth Hour Candlelit Dinner at The Joinery

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT - Please sign up to be the first to know about future events.

Join us at The Joinery and for an evening of wonderful conversation, fine food and inspirational speakers.

You don't want to end up with your lights on during this year's Earth Hour, so make sure you are seated around the table at our Candlelit Dinner on Saturday 28 March.

Be among the first to get a sneak peak of Adelaide's new community environment space and our new home The Joinery at Conservation SA's special fundraising event.

From Planet to Plate, we cover farming, food and festivities over three hours with a three course meal and three inspiring guest speakers.

Your inspiring guest speakers on the night:

silviahart.jpgSilvia Hart is a passionate local ‘celebrity chef’ currently cooking her way across Australia at major culinary events.

A successful food entrepreneur, Silvia is the owner of The Seasonal Garden Café at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. As the name suggests, the café is seasonal and Silvia sources ingredients herself from her own and other local gardens.

Silvia is known for her effervescent style and endless passion, and in addition to being a Premium Food and Wine from our Clean Environment Ambassador, is an advocate for OzHarvest and Target 100.

Brenton Davey is a fourth generation farmer on Yorke Peninsula. Brenton and his wife Sue have been fighting Rex Minerals’ attempts to access his land since the company first began exploration in the region in 2008. Because their land sits within the Hillside Mining Lease, Rex must acquire a waiver over it before mining can commence.

Brenton and Sue are very active members of the Yorke Peninsula Land Owners’ Group, fighting to protect YP - SA’s most important cropping region - from invasive, open cut heavy metal mining.

Philippa Rowland is currently working for the National Energy Efficiency Network as Regional Leader SA/NT.

She studied Agriculture at the Waite Institute in Adelaide in the 1980s, before a brief stint with Oxfam/Community      Aid Abroad running major tree planting projects across SA, and then on to 11 years as a government scientist in    Canberra with the Bureau of Resource Sciences and the Natural Resource Management Policy Division in DAFF.

The past 11 years she has been active on community solutions to climate change - in NSW/ACT with Clean Energy for Eternity and returning to SA in 2010 as Regional Organiser for the 100% Renewable Campaign (now Solar Citizens). She remains passionate about protecting the environment and finding sustainable ways to safeguard productive and resilient ecosystems.
